Mackerel is characterized by tenderer and tender meat than tuna and full flavor and intense aroma. In addition to its smoky color, it can also slightly remind you of smoked mackerel from the store.
Mackerel is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids and complete proteins, which contain 22 g per 100 g of meat. It also provides you with important micronutrients such as potassium, vitamin A, selenium and copper. However, it is richest in vitamin B12, which contains more than 600 % of the reference intake.
Mackerel is caught using sustainable fishing methods, which include purse seines, trammel nets or hooks and lines. This is also why our mackerel is MSC certified.
